Higher PowerPoint. In my favorite moment from the web today, Ed Cone reports briefly on Pat Robertson, who was quoted as saying that President Bush told him there would be no casualties in Iraq. Ed continues:
In the same article Robertson says about Iraq, "the Lord told me it was going to be A, a disaster, and B, messy."
I don't remember God using that outline form for prophecy in the Bible, but maybe She now uses PowerPoint. Or is that Higher PowerPoint?
Ed's wisecrack responds wonderfully to the zany realm that Robertson seems to travel in, a realm where the Creator for some reason would be careful to distinguish between the disastrous and the messy aspects of the coming war. We should be careful about satirizing other people's faith, though, or we may not be granted an eternal reward that is A, blissful and B, happy.
Ed includes a link to Scott McClellan denying that Bush said there would be no casualties. Let's hope that McClellan is right, since it would be appalling if Bush had said it. [0 & P]
