Til human voices wake us. I actually had a phone conversation from another blogger today. You may live in a different world, but here in my world bloggers trade emails once every few months, and they never have coffee or talk to each other on the phone. Maybe I should get a life.
But we talked about the thin local blogging scene and batted around a few ideas about how it might catch a spark or two. The ideas would require getting out and about, meeting people, offering to teach neighborhood organizations to blog, maybe building a local blogging resource site, eventually an aggregator page, and otherwise wrapping actual human activity around the blogosphere's ultra-thin stream of electrons until something more tangible comes into existence. There are good models out there -- as a run up and down Ed Cone's blogroll will demonstrate.
Until then, I'll still cherish the occasional email or phone call. [0 & P]
