Astounding Wikipedia. Most edubloggers don't need the reminder, but if you want something astounding to show your students this week, go to the Wikipedia entry on Hurricane Katrina. The level of collaboration, the work over months to achieve the skills and shared understanding necessary to create something like that in a matter of hours, the strong use of images, the clarity of the writing, the systems in place for dealing with revision and error . . . . It's enough to make a person feel good about humanity. [0 & P]
